We are Rachna and Vishwaraj — both doctors, both parents, and completely incapable of sitting still. We started travelling as a family when Anaaya was just 9 months old. Everyone around us had an opinion about why that was a terrible idea. We went anyway. Fourteen countries later — we are still going.

 

Passportcubs started in 2018 as a way to document our trips for the girls — a memory bank more than anything else. But the more we travelled, the more we noticed the same thing: no one was writing for us. Every travel blog we found was written by Westerners, for Westerners, with Western passports and Western budgets. The visa headaches, the INR costs, the specific anxiety of flying long-haul with a toddler as an Indian family — none of that existed anywhere. So in 2025, we decided to do it properly. This is that blog.

Here is what we believe: travel is harder and more expensive for Indian families than for almost anyone else. The visa queues are longer. The documentation is heavier. The flights from India cost more. People will tell you it's too complicated, too risky, too much for young kids.
